If you like feta, delicious tomatoes, fish & seafood and olive oil all over, Greece is the place to go! Don't miss the Dakos that is a Cretan specialty (dry bareley rusk topped with feta, ripe tomatoes, olives, capers, oregano and loads of olive oil)! Here are some recommendations for restaurants:

Chania is a superb old port with colorful Venitian facades that is worth a visit!

Swim in the transparent water of Elafonissi

Elafonissi is said to be one of the most beautiful beach of the world! And we cannot agree more about this reputation! Just go early to avoid the crowds! After the good swim, head to Kalomirakis Tavern for lunch and Chrysokalitissa Monastery for a small cultural visit! 

Take a cruise to Balos and Gramvousa

Balos beach is one of the most iconic beach in Crete! And Gramvousa is the island around the corner! Both have gorgeous turquoise water. You can take a cruise boat from Kissamos that tour the two spots in a day. Cretan Daily Cruises goes there with a ferry everyday! Prefer a smaller company if you don't want to be part of mass tourism!

Visit the Agia Triada Monastery

The Monastery of Agia Triada or Holy Trinity is one of the most impressive of Crete and is defenitely worth a visit!

Relax in a beach club

Anemos Beach Club with its Sirroco Fish Restaurant is a perfect to spend a day of relaxation. It is located on Peristeras sandy beach surrounding by mountains!

Swim in Kournas Lake

Kournas Lake is the perfect place to take a dip in its clear waters! The lake surrounding by hills is just a few kilometers away from the sea. The legend says that a nymph wished the place to sink and become a lake in order to get saved of its fathers desires. Also don't miss the amazing food of Taverna Athitis with its grilled meats shared plates, delicious mezze and the best Dakos of Crete!

Drive along the beautiful scenery of the coast and the mountains

All the routes in Crete are or along the coast or completely in the mountains! Drive and enjoy the stunning scenaries!

Get a lunch in the port of Elounda

There are plenty of restaurants in Elounda port, one after another! Each one seems to serve delicious food so you can choose following your intuition! The Olondi is a very good option for fresh fish and nice service! You can also end up at Delmar Snack Bar for a Cappucino Freddo!

Visit the island of Spinalonga, unique UNESCO heritage

Spinalonga is an island of legends attracting visitors to explore its unique history.  It it served as a powerful sea fortress and was then used to isolate people affected by leprosy from 1903 to 1957. You can go by boat from Plaka, Elounda or Agios Nikolaos

Enjoy an evening in Plaka

Plaka is a gorgeous tiny village where you can go for shopping some souvenirs, eat an ice cream with goat milk at Goat It and have a nice dinner at Taverna Giorgios (Jiovanni's) or Ocean Restaurant

Go shoppping and eating in Agios Nikolaos

Agios Nikolaos is the biggest village around! There are plenty of shops to buy Greek handcrafts or souvenirs and plenty of options to dine along the port or the beach. Migomis Piano Restaurant & Café is a good option for a fancy dinner overlooking the port. If you prefer to be by the beach, go to Maistrali Taverna.
